API and MCP server

Ask your AI assistant how visible you are in AI.

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code to your Found in AI account and ask in plain words: how did we do this month, which questions are we missing, who gets named instead of us. Or pull the same data into your own reports with the REST API.

What you can ask

Your report, as a conversation.

The assistant reads your real results, so its answers come from your scans, not from a guess.

“How visible are we in AI answers this month, and is that up or down?”

“Which questions mention a competitor but not us?”

“What did Perplexity say last week when someone asked for a plumber in Tampa?”

“Which competitor is named most often, and on which AI tool?”

“Summarize our last scan in three bullets for the team.”

“Put our score for the last 12 weeks in a table.”

How to connect

Three ways in, no code needed for two.

01

Claude and ChatGPT apps

Add a custom connector with your server address, sign in to Found in AI and click Allow. No key to copy.

02

Cursor, Claude Code, VS Code

Create an API key in Settings, then paste the setup we show you. Each tool gets its exact steps.

03

REST API

Send the same key as a Bearer token and read JSON from six endpoints. Good for Looker Studio, Sheets or a client report.

What it reads

Six reads, the same as your dashboard.

Each one is an API endpoint and an MCP tool. Scores match the numbers on screen.

Base address: https://app.foundinai.ai/api/v1/{account}/ai-visibility

GET /summary

Your latest score, how often each AI tool names and links you, competitors and the last scan.

GET /questions

Every tracked question with the latest answer from each AI tool.

GET /results

Full AI answers and their sources, filtered by question, AI tool, scan or date.

GET /competitors

Tracked competitors and how often they were named in the latest scan.

GET /trends

Your score and each competitor's, week by week, for up to a year.

GET /scans

Recent scans, when they ran and how many questions they checked.

Built to be safe

It reads. It never changes anything.

Read-only

The connection cannot start scans, change questions or edit competitors. Those stay in your dashboard, where a person does them.

Your AI account

The assistant runs on your own Claude or ChatGPT plan, so asking it questions adds nothing to your Found in AI bill.

Revoke any time

Every connection is a key you can see in Settings. Revoke it and the assistant loses access straight away.

Which plans

Included with Plus and Pro.

The API and the MCP server come with Found in AI Plus and Pro at no extra cost. Agencies use them to put every client's numbers into one report.

Questions

About the API and MCP.

What is an MCP server?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard way AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT connect to outside tools. Your Found in AI account has its own MCP server, so your assistant can read your AI visibility results when you ask about them.

Which plans include it?

Found in AI Plus and Pro. If you are on another plan, you can upgrade from your dashboard and your scan history stays as it is.

Can the assistant run a scan or change my questions?

No. The connection is read-only. Scans and question changes stay in your dashboard, so nothing is spent or changed without a person deciding it.

Do I need a developer?

Not for Claude or ChatGPT: you add a connector and sign in. The REST API is for anyone who wants the data in their own tools or reports.

Will it make AI tools mention my business?

No. It reads what your scans found. It does not change what any AI tool says about you, and no one can promise that.
