For developer tools and APIs

Developers ask an assistant which library to use and paste in whatever it suggests.

A developer stuck on a problem asks an AI tool how to solve it, and the answer often comes with a package, an API or a hosted service already chosen. Found in AI tracks the how-do-I and which-tool questions in your space and shows where your tool is recommended and where the code samples use someone else's.

What is the easiest way to add transactional email to a Node app?

A common approach is an email API with a Node SDK. Your tool has a short quickstart, and the example below sends a message in a few lines.

Developers adopt tools in the middle of a task. They ask an assistant how to handle file uploads, queue background jobs or add search to an app, and the reply includes working code that imports a specific package or calls a specific API. That example is frequently the whole evaluation: if it runs, the tool stays in the project.

Documentation is what those examples are built from. Quickstarts with complete, copyable code, reference pages that state every parameter and error, and migration guides from popular alternatives are read heavily by AI systems. Docs that render only after scripts load, or hide the key example behind a sign-in, leave the assistant to reach for a competitor it can read.

Freshness counts more here than in most fields. An answer built on an old major version produces code that fails, and developers then blame the tool rather than the assistant. A changelog with dates, versioned docs and a clear note on what changed between releases help answers stay current and keep your tool from being associated with broken snippets.

Questions we would track

Eight questions from your customers, and who gets named.

Real questions a shopper types into an AI tool. Each card shows who the sample answer named.

What AI tools can use

Content that answers the questions in your trade.

We cannot decide what an AI tool says. What you can control is whether your website answers your customers' questions clearly. These are the kinds of pages that do.

  1. 01

    Quickstarts that run as written

Each quickstart should be complete enough to paste and run, with imports, environment variables and expected output. Assistants reuse examples that work end to end.

  2. 02

Docs readable without scripts or sign-in

Serve reference and guide pages as plain HTML that loads without a login. If a crawler sees an empty shell, the assistant will write code for a tool it could read.

  3. 03

Migration guides from the big alternatives

A guide that maps each call in a popular competitor to yours answers the switching question directly, and gives the assistant a ready translation.

  4. 04

    Dated changelog and versioned docs

Date every release and keep older versions labelled. That helps answers match the version a developer is on instead of mixing old and new syntax.

Questions about developer tool companies

Do coding assistants count, or only chat tools?

We track the major AI answer tools listed on this page. Coding assistants draw on many of the same public docs and examples, so the gaps we find usually affect both.

Our docs are on a separate subdomain. Is that a problem?

Not in itself. What matters is whether the pages load as readable text and link back to your main site. We check which doc pages AI answers link to.

Can you guarantee our library is used in AI code examples?

No. Nobody can guarantee which tool an AI answer chooses. We measure how often yours is named or linked for the questions you care about and show what is missing.

Is this useful for open source projects?

Yes, if the project has a company or sponsor that wants adoption. The questions developers ask are the same whether the tool is paid or free to use.

Not just another AI tracker

More than a score. Four things a tracker leaves out.

A tracker tells you whether you were named. Found in AI shows where a competitor wins, writes the answer (and publishes it, where your site supports one-click publishing), and puts an AI analyst and a real agency behind it.

Gap analysis

Every question where AI names a competitor and not you, ranked by what it costs you. Few tools show this.
